Jan Van der Borght

Mr. Jan Van der Borght has been the representative for the port of Antwerp since 2008. He started his career in Antwerp with Van Ommeren Antwerp, which later became Vopak as director of the logistics division. During his career in Antwerp, he also lectured at various institutes on a broad scope of shipping and logistics related subjects. From there he joined the Royal Burger Group as vice president until 2007, at which time he moved to Shanghai, China. He currently is acting CEO of the Eurbridge Group, which includes an incubator centre with offices in Shanghai, Beijing, and Hong Kong that was officially accredited in 2011 by the Flemish (North Belgian) government and a logistics services division with offices in Shanghai, Beijing and Atlanta.

Jan Van der Borght has been nominated as a guest professor at the Shanghai Maritime University since 2012. In 2012 he was awarded by the Shanghai Municipal government with the Silver Magnolia award and in 2014 he also received the Golden Magnolia Award in appreciation for valuable support to Shanghai’s development and contributions to friendly cooperation.
